Treasure Chest: An unusually curious-minded and friendly mimic discovered in Jzadirune. Gwydhyr relocated the creature to the temple of Lathander as a PR stunt.

As a mimic, Treasure Chest has a very alien concept of identity. His “true name” consists of a complex sequence of pheremones and aromatic odors that cannot not duplicated by spells such as tongues or comprehend language. Verbally, he identifies as whatever object he is mimicking at the time, and all attempts to get him to answer to a single, unchanging name have failed. As such, he alternating answers to “Altar,” “Church Pew,” “Curtain,” and in one particularly scandalous incident, “Latrine Seat.” Finding him to feed him his weekly rations is a nerve-wracking guessing game, and the altar boys draw lots to determine who has to do it.

Public response to Treasure Chest’s presence is mixed, and it has certainly focused an unusual amount of attention on the church. Kristof Jorgenstern’s official response to the mimic’s presence was to order several barrels of fine wine from the Drunken Morkoth brewery.
